#33 Sarah Polk

First Lady 1845 - 1849

wife of 11th president James K. Polk

for religious reasons she banned dancing and music at the White House on Sundays... until a young Kevin Bacon moves to town from big city Chicago and gets footloose with a delightful combination of dance choreography and gymnastics to the song "Let's Hear It for the Boy."Oh wait, that was John Lithgow.

wife of 12th president, Zachary Taylor

#31 Caroline Harrison

First Lady 1885 - 1889

Now here's a lady who had fun on Spring Break!

#20 Eleanor Roosevelt

First Lady 1933 - 1945

wife of 32nd President Franklin D. Roosevelt

Yes, Eleanor Roosevelt! I couldn't believe it myself but her younger pictures are not quite as horrible as those of her middle years and she really did make quite a sweet looking old lady, rather handsome old bat actually.

#19 Lady Bird Johnson

First Lady 1963 - 1969

wife of 36th President Lyndon B. Johnson

well she certainly looks like a bird of some sort

#18 Jane Pierce

First Lady 1853 - 1857

wife of 14th President Franklin Pierce

Jane had the potential to rank much higher but most of her photos are from a profile angle and as she seems grumpy, which is illustrated by the fact that she left most of her First Lady duties to her aunt and Varina Davis, wife of Secretary of War Jefferson Davis- and #3 on this list, I can't in good conscience place her any higher.

#17 Abigail Adams

First Lady 1797-1801

wife of the second President of the United States, John Adams and Mother of sixth President John Quincy Adams

How hot is that? One president went in, and another came out, she's got loins of success. Rivaled by only Barbara Bush. Her younger pictures are quite attractive which account for the high rank but she looses position because in the portraits of her later years she looks like a European prince.

#16 Lucy Webb Hayes

First Lady 1877 - 1881

wife of 19th President Rutherford B. Hayes

If smart girls are hot to you; Lucy was the first First Lady to have a college education. Although Lemonade Lucy may not have had much fun on spring break as her and Ol' Ruthy banned all alcoholic beverages at state functions and in the White House.

#15 Lucretia Garfield

First Lady 1881

wife of 20th President James Garfield

#14 Michelle Obama

Future First Lady 2009 -

Wife of President - Elect Barack Obama

She is a snappy dresser, and somewhat attractive but media hype aside Michelle Obama loses points for being often frightening, and far more attractive at some angles than others. The fact that she is only 44 in these photos is also considered as many of the first ladies are significantly older in their popular photos.
